In 2003, India’s first-of-its-kind warehousing facility was started in the Uyyalawada Village & Mandal of Kurnool District in Andhra Pradesh by Bharti Seeds’ Group Chairman, Mr. P. Brahmananda Reddy. He identified the undeniable need to build scientific storage and preservation facilities to protect farmers’ agricultural produce and save them from bearing financial losses. The project was intended to extend direct service to the farming community in storing and scientifically preserving the stocks without depending on any government/non-government organizations.
In our commitment to uplifting the farming community and providing them with improved standards of living, our Group Companies initiated non-banking finance activities to fund rural farmers exclusively. The funds are provided at par with public sector banks by pledging stocks that farmers store in the group warehouses.
